The Archives – The Lyric Book “Mrs. Gardener”

I once loved a girl who’s mom was a bit unsure about me.  She was very much adored by her family.  She had walls and walls of trophies, scholarships to half a dozen colleges, the best private schooling and was a “conquer the world” type of girl . I just wanted for her mom to think I wasn’t a schmuck, so I wrote a song about it.

Mrs. Gardener – Final Version

The prettiest flower in the field is always so close to the edge of the cliff
I dont mind the fall, as long as i can have it
Whats the worry mrs. gardener
Water and sunlight is all you ask
But your life’s on your back
And you cant unpack
I’m quiet now but im turning inside, afraid that you might die

Whats the worry mrs. gardener
Whats the wory mrs. gardener

I wont wait here idly
While you stay locked inside
A windows fine, but i hear that a touch is better
Somebody can only give you everything they have until it becomes what They had
So if you give half of it back youll know its not so bad

Whats the worry mrs. gardener
So whats the worry mrs. gardener

I wont wait here idly
While you stay locked inside
A windows fine, but i hear that a touch is better
